ALMA MUSIC BOX to be exhibited in Belgium
The ALMA MUSIC BOX, developed in collaboration with the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), aims to increase awareness of the giant ALMA telescope, which is capable of capturing faint radio waves from the universe. This work expresses the radio data of stars nearing the end of their lives captured by ALMA with the sound of a music box.
The ALMA MUSIC BOX is currently exhibited at Gallery CID in Le Grand-Hornu, a world heritage site in Wallonia in Belgium. The exhibition, titled "COSMOS - Design from here and beyond -" introduces a number of works that conceptually, technically and poetically explore the structure of the universe and the hidden physical laws that govern it.
