Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai : Osaka Healthcare Pavilion

Installations

OVERVIW

The Osaka Healthcare Pavilion was jointly presented by Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. Entitled “REBORN,” it features an immersive exhibition exploring the future of urban living and healthcare.

Visitors begin by measuring their own physical data to better understand their current condition. Based on these results, a future version of themselves is generated. Accompanied by this future self, they move through multiple exhibits within the pavilion, experiencing content tailored to their physical and emotional states. Through sensing devices, vital data, and personalized visual presentations, the exhibition offers a multifaceted exploration of the relationship between technology and humanity.

Through this next-generation healthcare experience that connects the city and the individual, as well as technology and life itself, the message “One body. Infinite futures.” is shared with audiences in Japan and around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We provided overall technical direction for the pavilion for more than three years, beginning in the initial concept phase.

In the early stages of the project, when specifications were still being defined, we assessed technical feasibility and led the design of the system’s foundational architecture. While balancing performance, cost, and feasibility, we led the development of a system-wide design strategy with a holistic perspective across the project.

During the development phase, we acted as a bridge between multiple development teams and vendors, serving as a technical translator to align requirements and interfaces. By continuously updating sequence diagrams and developing and sharing verification tools, we supported fact-based decision-making and smooth collaboration across teams.

In the final phase leading up to launch, we addressed unforeseen technical issues that arose during on-site testing and operational preparation. From analyzing situations calmly to identifying root causes, documenting steps to reproduce the issues, and implementing improvements, we handled each issue end to end. Even under tight timelines, we maintained a fact-based approach grounded in logs and measured data, contributing to the stable operation of the project.

Guided by three core principles, holistic optimization, fact-based communication, and proactive risk management with hands-on problem solving, we consistently supported the project from a technical standpoint.
