Kao: Silent Cleaning
OVERVIEW
Developed by Kao’s Home Care Division, Silent Cleaning is the company’s first-ever 3D exploration horror-action and cleaning simulation game.
You inherit a villa from your late father and uncover hidden mysteries while cleaning the property with real Kao products such as Magiclean and Quickle. Your performance is measured through cleaning completion and escape time, and the storyline unfolds through multiple endings.
Blending the thrill of horror with the satisfaction of a spotless clean, the game offers a unique way to experience the “joy of cleaning” while naturally learning useful tips along the way.
RESPONSIBILITIES
BASSDRUM handled project management across the entire game production process, from game design to technical specifications and implementation.
During the development phase, we meticulously defined data specifications between designers and engineers in advance. This preparation minimized the need for last-minute asset replacements from CG and sound designers, enabling repeated cycles of previewing, reviewing, and updating mock designs in the actual game environment within a limited timeline.
As the launch date approached, we organized multiple rounds of discussions to prioritize adjustments aimed at improving quality and refining the user experience. By working closely with the development team, we established a practical workflow that balanced technical constraints with creative goals.
Over the course of roughly eight months, which is considered relatively short for a game of this scale, we focused on structured phase management and created a system where all team members could work in parallel. This approach ensured smooth progress while incorporating both creative and technical perspectives.
