After studying in the U.K. and working as a graphic designer in Tokyo, she joined IMG SRC in 2006 to run the bilingual online culture magazine PingMag and also contributed to various magazines and books such as Dazed & Confused, Numero Tokyo and 100 Filmmakers. From 2013 to 2019, she promoted Shime-Parfait culture (eating “parfait” at the end of the day) in her native Hokkaido at Crypton Future Media, known for the virtual singer Hatsune Miku.
