OVERVIEW

Four digital experiences of OPEN HUB Park, which opened in Otemachi Place West Tower as the center of NTT Communications' business co-creation program "OPEN HUB for Smart World".

RESPONSIBILITIES

BASSDRUM participated as a team in the creation of four different digital experiences and websites that connect across real and virtual boundaries.

We provided technical direction in a variety of areas spanning hardware and software, starting with feasibility checks for the planning, the parts related to content production, coordination with the architecture and construction team when installing the LED panels, communication with the team managing the server/infrastructure/network, and designing the specifications for the management screen after hearing how the digital experience would be used.

Yuma Murakami was in charge of the overall technical direction of the four different digital experiences. He worked smoothly with the tech directors responsible for each of the initiatives, leading to the success of a large-scale project spanning multiple content areas.

OPEN HUB Monoliths

Seven life-size displays surround the entrance space. Linked to the entrance procedure system, they generate personalized graphics (OPEN HUB Personal Logo) based on the initials and occupation of each guest. These are then projected on the displays in an immersive production that welcomes visitors as members of OPEN HUB.

The generated "OPEN HUB Personal Logo" will be a symbol of communication across the real and virtual worlds, changing according to online and offline activities at the OPEN HUB.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Atsuko Okada was in charge of technical production. Ken Murayama provided the "OPEN HUB Personal Logo" and overall technical direction. Ryusuke Izumida provided overall design and technical direction for the sensing area. Kazunari Takashima did visual and audio system design. Takuma Nakata was in charge of visual implementation of the prototype.

OPEN HUB Visualizer

A giant LED display that collects, accumulates, analyzes, and visualizes data held by companies that co-create with each other. Those who see it can be inspired through the experience of a dynamic installation based on data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kazunari Takashima was in charge of technical direction regarding the system design of the video display. Ryusuke Izumida was in charge of technical direction regarding equipment and system configuration. Hisazumi Hayashi was in charge of visualization implementation of some content included in the "OPEN HUB Visualizer.

OPEN HUB Window

Life-size signage that allows you to connect with co-creation partners in remote locations as if you were in the same space. Co-creation sites can talk to each other at any time, enabling smooth communication that is closer and more personal than the usual online meetings

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ryusuke Izumida was in charge of technical direction regarding equipment and system configuration. Kenta Watashima and Saqoosha, who also belong to Whatever, were in charge of the overall implementation.

OPEN HUB Robot Visitors

A robot that allows multiple people to log in and look around the OPEN HUB Park while conversing via video chat. This communication tool enables remote participation even if you cannot be there.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kenta Watashima, also a member of Whatever, was in charge of the overall technical direction of the project.
